Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by bones that break easily, often with little or no apparent cause. It results from a defect in the production of collagen, a key protein that helps strengthen bones. Most patients suffer multiple fractures throughout their lifetime and associated corrective surgeries. To date, there is no cure for OI. Our son was born with OI and has gone through multiple fractures, surgeries and long injury recoveries throughout his life.
Due to the rarity of this condition, OI research receives very little funding or attention. We sincerely appreciate you contribution to this cause.
